Hello! My name is Kirsten Lundgren, St. Joseph’s new principal! I am originally from Dighton, Kansas, but I now live on my husband’s family ranch/farm south of Gove, Kansas.
In 2013 I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I began my first teaching job at Quinter Elementary School in Quinter, Kansas. I taught 2nd grade at Quinter for 5 years. I also coached cheerleading, volleyball, and track during my time at Quinter.
In 2017 I received a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Fort Hays State University. I feel so fortunate that my first principal position can be here at St. Joseph School in Oakley.
I have had quite a busy, but amazing summer. Not only did I accept my first principal position here at St. Joseph, but my husband and I also welcomed our first child into our family. Landry Evelyn Lundgren was born on June 26, 2018.
I am looking forward to this school year and getting to know everybody! I feel so blessed to now be a part of a parish and school system that values FAITH, FAMILY, and EDUCATION.
To close, I believe it is important to stay current on reviewing our School Mission Statement. Here is St. Joseph School’s Mission Statement:
“We at St. Joseph School in partnership with our parish community are committed to developing lifelong learners with an emphasis on Catholic values. Our mission on this journey is to teach the gospel message to our students while educating the whole person spiritually, socially, physically and academically.”
Thank you for all that you do,
